Paramount + arrived in Brazil! Learn all about the new streaming platform

In February, we received the news that a new streaming platform was coming: Paramount +. The novelty, completely reformulated, finally debuted here in Brazil and Latin America on March 4th, bringing a competitive price and new options for successful films and series, as well as original productions.

The service will bring content from ViacomCBS, which is not only the largest open television channel in the United States, but also responsible for some of the most famous titles in the entertainment world. The platform is a combination of the already known Paramount + and CBS All Access, offering content for young people and adults, children and families.

To learn more about the novelty, the Canaltech talked to Mauricio Kotait, general manager of ViacomCBS in Brazil, who told us that the new version of Paramount + is much more robust in terms of content and even more modern, as it has the best technological resources in the development of the platform.

“We can say that it is a mountain of entertainment – alluding to the Paramount logo, a brand well known by everyone and a world reference in quality content. All the content that Viacom already had was – has always been – very relevant. The merger with CBS gave life to the current ViacomCBS, an extremely strong company in the entertainment market. It is worth remembering that ViacomCBS is the largest American open TV “, says Kotait.

Paramount + and the competition

In recent years, more and more new ways of watching movies and series legally have emerged, offering subscribers the possibility of having access to the titles they want at any time. And Paramount + arrives not only as another streaming option, according to the general manager of ViacomCBS in Brazil, but also provoking a revolution in this market.

“It is a platform that talks to all audiences, delivering extremely high quality content, which is already successful worldwide. And this is one of the main differentials,” says Kotait. The executive also reveals that Paramount + will talk to those who like releases and the productions of Paramount studios. “We also talk to young people who like MTV content, Comedy Central, and who like boutique, because we have all the content from CBS, mainly Showtime. We talk to children, we already have available, for example, the newly launched SpongeBob movie “, he explains.

Regarding the series, Kotait explains that many productions will be launched soon, including originals from Paramount +, being original titles from all over the world and also from Brazil.
